"BRING A DREAM" DISCUSSION GROUP
Participants in the Dream Groups are asked to keep a dream journal and be willing to share their dreams with the group. We will work with dreams in much the same way we understand C.G. Jung did, looking for symbols which will lead us to understanding the messages from our psyche in order to help us in the process of individuation. This year, there will be an afternoon and an evening Dream Group. Space is limited.
Afternoon Dream Group - Mary Gurley
The afternoon Dream Group, led by Mary Gurley, will meet alternate Wednesdays, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, at Unity Church, 3023 Proctor Road, Sarasota, Classroom A, beginning October 12, 2011. Mary will form a second afternoon group if there are too many for one group.

About Mary Gurley

Since moving to Florida in 2000, she has served on the Board of the Jung Society of Sarasota and continued to facilitate dream groups and attend lectures and workshops offered by Journey Conferences and the Jung Society of Sarasota.
About Irene Moksha

She is an Adjunct College instructor and has taught courses in Psychology, Sociology and Occult and the Supernatural. She is a member of the Jung Society of Sarasota and a former Board Member. Her involvement in dream work has varied from independent pursuit, graduate coursework, utilizing the study of client's dreams in her private coaching practice and with Jung Society dream groups, workshops, and seminars. She has an extensive dream book collection and continues to be an avid and enthusiastic pursuer of dreams, otherwise known as "night school."
JUNGIAN ANALYSIS OF MYTHOPOETIC LITERATURE
Facilitated by: Barbara Shocket, M.S., LMHC and David Eisner, PsyD, NCPsyA
This year we will go back to the origins of mythopoetic imagination and consciousness - to the Golden Age of Greece. The texts we will read include Mythology, by Edith Hamilton, and The Odyssey, by Homer, Robert Fitzgerald translation. Hamilton provides concise portraits of the stories which document the formation and development of the human psyche - stories of love, war, fate, creative and destructive forces that clash both outwardly, in day to day life, and inwardly, in the journey of the soul. From there, we will go back to the original journey myth, The Odyssey, to look in on the early strivings of the mind, historically ancient, yet psychologically modern. Works of art, music, and film, inspired by mythological themes, will be integrated into the group reading.
